The Consumer Fraud Unit’s primary focus is on the prevention of deception and misrepresentations in connection with the advertisement and sale of goods and services to individual and business consumers in Colorado. This is accomplished through the enforcement of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act, the Colorado Charitable Solicitations Act, along with other consumer protection statutes.
The Attorney General represents the State of Colorado and investigates complaints alleging a pattern of unlawful and deceptive trade practices. Information from consumers allows us to identify and devote our resources to the most serious cases involving widespread injury to Colorado consumers. Any legal action we take is on behalf of the State of Colorado as we are prohibited in providing individual legal advice, interpretation, or individual legal representation.
