Complaints assist our office in the detection of fraud and abuse patterns affecting Colorado consumers statewide. While it’s up to you to determine how much information you want to provide, the information obtained from complaints help us identify consumer fraud trends and set enforcement priorities.
As privacy is paramount we strongly recommend you remove all personal confidential information, such as Social Security numbers, bank account and credit card numbers, and medical information from copies of any documents you include with your complaint. In some cases, your complaint may be forwarded to the business or applicable law enforcement agency and may ultimately be used in legal proceedings on behalf of the State of Colorado.
While the Colorado Attorney General’s Office is unable to directly resolve individual concerns, you may also wish to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) at www.bbb.org or by calling 720-508-6006, telephone option 4. As most legal matters are extremely complex, you may wish to consult with a private attorney and/or review the possibility of small claims court remedies in your area. Please note we are prohibited from giving legal advice. As a result we are unable to provide legal advice, interpretation, or individual legal representation.
