Refresher academies are available to satisfy training requirements for those:
- Out of state officers seeking Provisional Certification in Colorado
- Colorado certified peace officers who have not been employed as a peace officer for 6 months within the last 3 years

Highlands Ranch Public Safety Training Institute has been preparing students to take the POST examination to become certified as peace officers since 1998. H.R.P.S.T.I. will be conducting a refresher academy for any former Colorado certified peace officer that needs to be recertified, or officers from other states that need to be certified in Colorado with POST.

The Western Colorado Peace Officers Academy will be holding a Refresher Academy in Summer 2013 (date TBD). Price includes all instruction, facilities, manuals, ammunition, use of academy handguns, duty gear, two academy t-shirts, and the POST exam fee. Students will need to obtain the most current edition of the Colorado Peace Officer’s Handbook, which is available at the Colorado Mesa University bookstore (970-248-1422) or online. Training includes all of the required POST courses of Driving, Firearms, Arrest Control Techniques, and exam preparation.
