This workshop will follow the process taken to resolve a cold case domestic violence homicide that took place in Colorado in 2007 from the crime scene and initial response to the trial and its resolution 5 years later. Colorado has been in the forefront of cold case legislation. Topics addressed in this conference will include: recent research on co-victims experiences with the criminal justice system; Colorado cold case legislation; the importance of police and DA leadership; and what domestic violence service providers need to know.
