Attorney General John Suthers to Testify In Support Of Internet Safety Legislation

NOTES: Attorney General John Suthers will testify in support of HB 06-1011, a bill drafted by his office and sponsored by Sen. Paula Sandoval (D-Denver) and Rep. Bob McCluskey (R-Larimer), which would protect children from online sexual solicitation. This legislation is the cornerstone of the Attorney General's Safe Surfing Initiative, launched last May to help keep children safe from online predators.

Following the announcement of the Safe Surfing Initiative, Attorney General Suthers toured the state, visiting schools and Boys & Girls Clubs to educate children and parents about the importance of Internet safety.

General Suthers will be joined tomorrow by Detective Brian Steckler of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to provide a demonstration of an online solicitation.
