DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and Securities Commissioner Fred Joseph today announced the arrests of Hamilton Alan Bird (DOB 8/14/63), David Edward Newton (DOB 9/4/49) and Douglas Alan Scott, (DOB 11/16/59), all of Colorado Springs, following their indictment by a statewide grand jury on May 12, 2006 in a hedge fund scheme that defrauded hundreds of victims out of approximately $7.5 million.

Attorney General Suthers Announces $800,000 In P.O.S.T. Board Grants To Colorado Police Training Programs -- 04/21/2006
DENVER – Attorney General John Suthers today announced grants totaling $800,000 will be awarded to police officer training programs throughout Colorado. The grants were approved today at a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Board meeting. Attorney General Suthers chairs the P.O.S.T. Board.
“These funds provide critical training to Colorado’s peace officers,” said Suthers. “Last year alone, over 6,400 officers attended more than 96,000 hours of training through this grant program.”

Attorney General Suthers Announces Sentencing Of Loveland Bail Bondsman -- 03/28/2006
DENVER – Attorney General John Suthers today announced that David Frisco, 48, of Loveland was sentenced to 12 years in prison for crimes relating to the operation of his bail bond business known as Colorado Bail Bonds, Golden West Bail Bonds, and Acoma Ten Percent Bail Bonds.
“The multiple offenses for which David Frisco was indicted reveal a disturbing pattern of criminal behavior,” said Suthers. “We were pleased to receive the maximum sentence possible.” Under the terms of the plea agreement, the maximum sentence Frisco could have received was 12 years.
