DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers today released his findings in a statutorily required review of a proposed transfer of Exempla Healthcare System assets from the Community First Foundation to the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System, Inc. In his review, the Attorney General found no material change in the charitable purposes of the transferred assets, and therefore no basis to challenge the transfer.

Suthers Sues Local Company For Deceptive Advertising -- 12/19/2007
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John Suthers today announced that his office has filed a lawsuit against Thornton-based Thermal Advantage, Inc. and its president, Eugene Applehans, for intentionally deceiving and financially injuring Colorado consumers. Thermal Advantage, which sells home improvement products – including windows, doors, and siding – ran radio, television, and print ads in numerous local press venues from 2005 to 2007.

DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers today announced two personnel changes in the Attorney General’s Office. Dennis Ellis has been promoted to deputy attorney general for legal policy and governmental affairs. Attorney General’s Office Releases Annual Lending Data -- 11/06/2007
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers today issued several reports on the state’s sub-prime lending activity in 2006. The reports include only lenders supervised by the Attorney General’s Office, and do not include most mortgages. However, they do show a significant increase in high-interest lending, as well as debt dependency.
Report Details Environmental Damage At Rocky Mountain Arsenal -- 10/29/2007
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers today released a Natural Resource Damage Assessment Plan (NRDA) detailing past and ongoing environmental damages caused by chemical production at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The NRDA found significant harms to environmental resources on and off the Arsenal site, most notably contaminated groundwater and injured wildlife. Fort Collins Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Securities Fraud -- 10/24/2007
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers and Colorado Securities Commissioner Fred Joseph today announced the indictment of Gene Robert Little in connection with an alleged Ponzi scheme involving millions of dollars in investments from Northern Coloradans. The sixty-two year old Little, a Fort Collins resident, was arrested on 42 counts of securities fraud and one count of theft. The indictment was handed down by a statewide grand jury. If convicted on all counts, Little would face a minimum sentence of 172 years in prison, and millions of dollars in fines and restitution.

Attorney General Suthers Announces $375,000 In Grants To Fight Meth -- 09/28/2007
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John W. Suthers today announced $375,000 in Daniels Fund grants to a pair of Colorado anti-methamphetamine programs. The grants were announced prior to a meeting of the Statewide Methamphetamine Task Force, which the Attorney General chairs. Two-hundred thousand dollars has been awarded to the Colorado Alliance for Drug Endangered Children and $175,000 has been awarded to a meth treatment pilot program in Delta County.
Attorney General Suthers Brings Colorado Concerns To Mexico -- 09/19/2007
