DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today the state has reached agreements with seven loan-modification firms that either failed to deliver results to Colorado consumers or engaged in deceptive advertising. The agreements will force these firms to either comply with Colorado law or not do business in the state.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that Merck & Co. Inc, Schering-Plough Corporation and a joint venture of the two companies, MSP Singapore Company, LLC, have agreed to settle with 35 states, including Colorado, after it delayed the release of negative results from a clinical trial of its cholesterol lowering drug Vytorin.
Colorado will receive $100,000 of the $5.4 million the companies have agreed to pay as part of the settlement. The money will be used for reimbursing investigation costs and funding future investigations.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today his office has reached a settlement with an Englewood locksmith company after an investigation revealed it had routinely misrepresented the costs of its services to consumers.
Under the settlement, Basad, Inc., and its owners Peleg Forman, Batia Forman and Michael Biton, will pay $100,000. The money will be used to reimburse consumers who complained of paying Basad, Inc., charges that were not disclosed to consumers when they called and requested locksmith services.
