DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that two men, Danny Troy Kleiman (DOB: 2/17/1964) and David Dale Werkmeister (DOB: 9/14/1964), indicted on suspicion of committing multiple felonies in connection with a scheme to solicit thousands of dollars in charitable donations for nonexistent charities, have pleaded guilty.
Kleiman and Werkmeister each pleaded guilty to violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act and to committing charities fraud, both felonies. Under their plea agreements, each could face up to 16 years in prison.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers issued a consumer advisory today warning Coloradans of an uptick in the number of reports of fraudulent job listings on Craiglist and other popular job-search Web sites.
“The economic downturn has left thousands of Coloradans without work,” Suthers said. “However, even in these times of uncertainty, it is essential that Coloradans be cautious of any position advertised on Craigslist or other job-search Web sites. If a job sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers today announced that the state of Colorado will receive more than $376,000 as part of a $95.5 million global settlement with Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of sanofi-aventis U.S., LLC. The agreement resolves allegations that between 1995 and 2000, Aventis and its corporate predecessors knowingly misreported best prices for the steroid-based anti-inflammatory nasal sprays Azmacort, Nasacort and Nasacort AQ.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said an Arapahoe County jury’s verdict today sentencing convicted murderer Robert Ray to death was appropriate given his crime: murdering a witness.
“I can only hope that today’s verdict offers the families of Javad Marshall-Fields and Vivian Wolfe a measure of solace that justice was done,” Suthers said. “Both young Coloradans were senselessly murdered in June 2005 simply because Marshall-Fields was a witness in a murder case.
