Attorney General Announces Five-Year Probation Sentence for Defendant in Montrose Hazardous Waste Case -- 09/24/2009

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that a Montrose County District Court judge has sentenced Steven Casebolt (DOB: 2/8/1959) to a total of five years probation for his involvement in a Montrose-based company’s failure to properly store and dispose of hazardous wastes.

The judge also sentenced Casebolt, who pleaded guilty July 9, 2009 to three felony counts — illegal treatment of a hazardous waste, illegal storage of a hazardous waste and illegal storage of a hazardous waste — to 135 days in jail.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that his office recently obtained guilty pleas and sentences in the Denver District Court in two separate Medicaid wheelchair-fraud cases.

Cortney Ileane Miller, 55, pleaded guilty Aug. 14, 2009 to forgery, a class-five felony. Theft and other felony charges in a twelve-count Criminal Complaint were dismissed. Denver District Court Judge Christina Habas sentenced Miller to five years probation, with conditions to include 100 hours of useful public service and restitution of more than $23,000.

Attorney General, Adams County DA, North Metro Task Force Announce Take-Down Of 41-Person Methamphetamine Ring -- 08/24/2009

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers, 17th Judicial District Attorney Don Quick and the North Metro Task Force announced today that they have dismantled a massive methamphetamine ring comprised of 41 suspects, including 19 suspected of violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. The Statewide Grand Jury handed down the recently unsealed indictment last week.
