DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John Suthers today announced four priority bills to be introduced during the 2009 legislative session. The bills target “foreclosure rescue” firms, lift age-old civil penalty limits, and increase the penalties for appraisal fraud and water pollution.
House Bill 1109 – Expanding the Colorado Foreclosure Protection Act
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that Todd Teel, age 41, has pled guilty in Denver District Court to a felony charge of Criminal Impersonation. The State had alleged that Teel, who was not a state-certified paramedic, provided American Medical Response of Denver a falsified certificate attesting to his paramedic status. The complaint, which was filed last October, alleged that Teel then operated in AMR ambulances as a paramedic between June 2006 and December 2007.
DENVER – Colorado Attorney General John Suthers today announced three settlements as part of his office’s ongoing effort to crack down on deceptive mortgage advertising and bring foreclosure consultants into compliance with the law. Today’s announcement comes on the heels of a similar set of cases announced on November 18 of last year.
