Attorney General, FBI announce successful extradition of man suspected of running a $23 million, multistate Ponzi scheme -- 08/30/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation today to announce that William L. Walters (DOB: 1/30/1965) has been extradited from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Colorado to face a series of securities fraud charges stemming from a 2007 indictment.
“This extradition is the culmination of years of work and cooperation between my office and the FBI,” Suthers said. “In this case, justice delayed will not result in justice being denied. We look forward to presenting our case against Mr. Walters and securing justice for his victims.”

U.S. District Court rules in state’s favor in Dunlap habeas corpus case -- 08/24/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that Senior U.S. District Court Judge John L. Kane has ruled in favor of the state in a habeas corpus case filed by convicted murderer Nathan Dunlap.
The federal court ruling upholds Dunlap’s death sentence stemming from the 1993 murder of four employees at an Aurora restaurant.
Attorney General announces $2 million judgment against fraudulent Englewood-based business brokers -- 08/23/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an Arapahoe County District Court judge has approved a settlement barring Tyrone E. Tymkovich (DOB: 12/30/1977) of Aurora and Sam Levine (DOB: 2/1/1967) of Castle Rock from soliciting or defrauding Colorado businesses through their business brokerage. Tymkovich and Levine will be required to pay $1 million each to the state in fines and restitution.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that a Jefferson County District Court judge has barred Sherron L. Lewis, Jr., (DOB: 9/26/1956) from providing consumers with foreclosure-relief services. Lewis, who is not licensed to practice law, also was ordered as part of the preliminary injunction to pay more than $76,000 in restitution to his victims, including an elderly Illinois woman.
