Attorney General announces 10-year sentence for Greeley man involved in Metro-area heavy equipment, auto thefts

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that an Adams County District Court judge has sentenced Shawn Robert Adolf (DOB: 9/25/1974) of Greeley to 10 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for his role in a heavy equipment and automobile theft scheme in Denver and northern Colorado. Adolf also was sentenced to pay more than $88,000 in restitution to his victims.

The Office of the Attorney General obtained an indictment of Adolf and five others from the Statewide Grand Jury in May 2008. Adolf is the final member of the theft ring to be sentenced.

Adolf’s sentencing follows his guilty plea, entered Oct. 23, 2009, to theft, a class-three felony.
