DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the Statewide Grand Jury has indicted Marcus Williams (DOB: 6/28/1967), Kimberly Anderson (DOB: 5/30/1970) and Scott Peters (DOB: 1/31/1964) on suspicion of running an elaborate mortgage-fraud scheme under the auspices of Blackhawk Property Management.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers released a letter to members of the Colorado Assembly today summarizing his position on medical marijuana legislation, which is scheduled to be presented before a House committee next week. Suthers’ letter underlines his and the law enforcement community’s concerns that the Massey-Romer bill clearly goes beyond what the voters intended when they passed Amendment 20 in 2000.
Due to scheduling conflicts, Suthers may be unavailable to attend next week’s hearing on the bill.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the state has reached a settlement agreement with the former operators of the Colorado Humane Society. As part of the settlement, Robert Warren and Mary C. Warren are barred from operating or managing charitable organizations for the next decade. The Warrens also will be prohibited from owning or operating any business covered by the Colorado Pet Animal Care Facilities Act, such as an animal shelter, for the next five years.

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers warned Coloradans today to beware of e-mails from a fraudulent collection agency, IAC Recovery Systems, Ltd., informing them that they owe exactly $293.11 to an unnamed creditor. DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and AARP ElderWatch urged Coloradans today to beware of scam artists using the 2010 Census as a means to steal their personal information, commit identity theft or commit other crimes.
“The Census is an important decennial tradition that will determine, among many things, the number of congressional representatives Colorado will have for the next decade,” Suthers said. “I would urge Coloradans to cooperate with legitimate Census workers but beware of those intent on using the Census to commit identity theft or other crimes.”
Attorney General announces Colorado will receive $1.2 million under a multistate settlement resulting from dental-care cases -- 01/20/2010
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the state will receive more than $1.2 million as part of a $24 million multistate settlement with FORBA Holdings, LLC, a dental management company that provided management services to Small Smiles dental clinics nationwide. The agreement resolves allegations that starting in 2006, FORBA caused bills to be submitted to the state for medically unnecessary dental services performed on children covered by Medicaid.
