DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the state has secured a court order barring Regent Asset Management Solutions, Inc., a Denver-based debt collection agency, and its CEO, Michael A Scata (DOB: 5/6/1954), from engaging in the unlicensed collection of debt in Colorado in violation of the Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The order also requires that Regent Asset Management Solutions pay the state $70,000 in civil penalties for violations of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.

Attorney General announces guilty plea in unlawful sexual contact case involving former Western Slope District Attorney -- 10/19/2011
DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that Myrl Serra, the former District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District of Colorado, pleaded guilty in Montrose District Court to criminal extortion, a class-four felony, and unlawful sexual contact, a class-one misdemeanor. The unlawful sexual contact charge involved three victims. In pleading guilty, Serra acknowledged that sufficient evidence exists for a jury to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Colorado Natural Resource Trustees award $1.7 million to aid in the restoration of the South Platte River -- 10/18/2011
DENVER — The Natural Resource Trustees of Colorado announced today that they have awarded $1.7 million in natural resource damage funds to the Greenway Foundation on behalf of the Overland Park Neighborhood Association to help restore water quality, habitat and riparian areas along a two-mile stretch of the South Platte River in south Denver.
The award of the funds will be contingent on the Greenway Foundation procuring matching funds for its projects at Grant Frontier Park, Pasquinel’s Landing and Overland Park. The projects are expected to start in roughly two years time.
